How?
The most common process for Omgjord can look like this:
1. You contact me about a garment that you want to change. The garment is perhaps too big, too small, has got stains that do not go away, is partly worn, or just a little bit boring. But you are not ready to donate it yet, you want to give the garment new life.
Or you might need a suitable garment for a special occasion - like a party or stage performance – but you want to avoid new consumption. Then we redesign any of your garments to the unique garment that suits you and the occasion.
2. Together we think about what we can do, based on the garment's conditions, your thoughts and needs and my experiences and ideas.
3. Often my redesigned garments include added material that enliven the garment, such as fabric, details or embroidery with elements of color, pattern, culture and / or history.
4. The garment is redesigned and sewn. Everything is done by me, i.e. the garment is not transported back and forth to a low-wage country. The result is a unique garment and craft work - the one and only example in the world - that is more or less tailor-made depending on how much we decide to redesign it.
5. Hopefully you will be satisfied and proud to have reused the garment, and given it an extended life. You have renewed the closet with a unique garment designed just for you, but you have not used as much of the earth's resources as if you had bought a newly produced garment.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Since each assignment becomes unique and is based on an existing garment as well as your needs and wishes, it is difficult to set out general prices. Email me photos of the garment you want to remake and briefly describe its "problem" (too tight, too big, stains etc) and what you want to do with it, or in which context you want to use it, and I will give you a cost estimate.
